TD: 'Eurodash' duo set for Dynamik debut
8/9/2003 21:40 (Press Release) -
The fast 3.1km Sandown circuit will provide Team Dynamik’s drivers plenty of passing opportunities, and a chance to showcase their fitness levels as the 500km race wears on.
Wills and Richards will drive car 44 in Sunday’s 500km race, while Minassian and Magnussen share car 45.
Magnussen currently lies equal fifth in the highly competitive American Le Mans Series and leads the Danish Touring Car Series, while Minassian has recent enduro experience, his team placing ninth at the 24-hour Le Mans race earlier this year.
The ‘can do’ team faces another challenge this week with news that many of the international drivers for the Sandown 500 are potentially unable to actually drive in the race.
Due to complex licence regulations for international drivers both Jan Magnussen and Nicolas Minassian as well as many others are faced with the possibility that to drive in the Sandown 500 they must surrender their international licence and can not reapply upon their return until next season. Those drivers who still have races to complete overseas before the end of the year are affected.
Team principal Kieran Wills in his usual fashion has not allowed these dramas to cast a shadow over the team’s strengthening form and will “fly to Paris myself to get the necessary pieces of paper signed” when questioned over the affair.
With both the Team Dynamik flying machines clearly on the pace after Oran Park in which both Simon Wills and Jason Richards qualified in the top ten and the prospect of the highly talented ‘euros’ joining them for Sandown, nothing will prevent them from being ready to do battle.
Richards placed fifth last round at Oran Park, his best V8 Supercar round result, and matching the team's previous best result by Simon Wills.
