DJR: Solid qualifying for Luff in Konica V8 Supercar Series

In a solid debut performance for the Dick Johnson Racing outfit, Warren Luff will start from the third row of the grid in tomorrow's sixth round of the Konica V8 Supercar Series at Mallala Raceway.
Mixing it with the series' regular contenders, Luff produced a one-minute 9.43secs lap to qualify sixth fastest today in the DJR Ford Falcon AU.
With Luff set to partner Shell Helix Racing regular Steve Johnson in this year's endurance races, the team is using the Konica V8 Supercar round to give him some race miles.
"We're pleased with his performance today," team owner Dick Johnson said.
"Qualifying was the first step, but tomorrow's three races are what we're really here for...to give Warren some laps under race pressure.
"It all adds up to experience. The more he gets, the better it will be for us in the enduros."
