BEIKOFF: Shane Beikoff Racing To Miss Mallala
27/8/2003 0:45 (Press Release) -
Shane Beikoff Racing will be notable in absence at the final round of the 2003 Konica V8 Supercar Series, as budgetary constraints has forced the Queensland-based team to miss the South Australian round.
After making an impressive debut at Round five of the Konica Series in their new ex-Stone Brothers Falcon, Shane Beikoff Racing will be watching from the sidelines.
Team Manager and driver Shane Beikoff is disappointed at missing the sixth and final round of the Konica V8 Supercar Series.
“We would have liked to have run at the final round of the series, as we really need to learn more about the Ford and the characteristics of the Ford against the Commodore which we have been running for the last two seasons,” Beikoff explained.
“However, what this does allow us to do is complete a full preparation program for Bathurst, which we have our eyes very firmly fixed on a top result,” Beikoff added.
After running a VS Commodore since the team’s inception in December 2001, Shane Beikoff Racing purchased an ex-Stone Brothers Racing EL Falcon with the view for 2004 when the Konica V8 Supercar Series steps up to a new level.
“We are very excited about 2004, we have an extremely competitive engine and parts package waiting for an AU shell to transfer into, so the AU shell is the final piece in the puzzle for us.”
”We can’t wait for 2004,” Beikoff concluded.
The Konica V8Supercars will be on track this weekend at South Australia’s Mallala Raceway, however you can catch the Shane Beikoff Racing EL V8 Supercar at the Konica V8 Supercar Challenge support race at the Bob Jane T-Marts Bathurst 1000, Mount Panorama on Saturday October 11.
