If you can't beat them join them, says new TEGA boss
23/1/2003 13:43 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) -
Former Super Touring boss Kelvin O’Reilly has been appointed as Chairman and General Manager of V8 Supercar racing’s Touring Car Entrants Group (TEGA) board.
O’Reilly will take up the post immediately, replacing Wayne Cattach who quit to concentrate on his duties as CEO of governing body AVESCO.
A long-time marketing and entertainment manager, O’Reilly was involved in a number of bitter disputes with AVESCO during his seven years at the helm of the rival Super Touring class.
O’Reilly will independently chair the TEGA board, made up of two representatives each from Ford and Holden teams.
“I am looking forward to a return to motorsport management and helping Australia’s premier motorsport category on its path of continued growth,” Mr O’Reilly said.
