Team Dynamik mean business: Ramsay

There’s an air of restrained anticipation in the Adelaide bunker of V8 Supercar racing’s newest team.

Team Dynamik's first VY Commodore will be put to the test at Mallala Raceway in the coming weeks

It’s a brash name, Team Dynamik, and an equally audacious campaign.
Local entrepreneur Malcolm Ramsay, together with Kiwi businessman Kieran Wills, has assembled the budget, a crack team of professionals, factory support from Holden and two promising young drivers in Simon Wills and Jason Richards.
And yesterday he launched the team’s striking new livery design that will garner both brand-new VY Commodores this season.
It’s a mean look, and they mean business.
“We are delighted with the results and believe the high quality imagery reflects the professionalism and depth of experience of the people involved with Team Dynamik,” Ramsay said.
“We are not going to do anything by half measure. We are serious and want to ensure that we have the best equipment and expertise to give our team the opportunity to run at the front.”
Ramsay yesterday announced the signing of experienced engine man Alan Draper to head-up the team’s engine department. Draper will be based in Brisbane.
He joins the recently appointed Oscar Fiorinotto, Craig Lowndes’ former right-hand-man at 00 Motorsport, as Technical Director.
Fiorinotto has taken a shareholding stake in the fledgling team.
“We have secured staff that are the best in the business, thus providing a solid experience base for the team,” Ramsay said.
“The new appointment of Alan Draper and Oscar Fiorinotto again shows that we mean business.”
Holden aside, no sponsors have yet been announced for the venture, but it is understood Ramsay has secured the necessary funding.
The team will debut both VY Commodores at the non-championship Grand Prix meeting in Melbourne, the first of which is nearing completion. A third VY shell will be built as a spare.
