Bright's not silly, signs new TWR contract

The man who would be second in the V8 Supercar championship, Jason Bright is staying put.
The 29-year-old Victorian today confirmed his intention to remain in V8 Supercar racing, signing a new two-year contract with TWR Australia.
"This can be an uncertain business at times, so it's good to be knowing exactly what I will be doing for the next couple of seasons," Bright said at Sandown Raceway, on the eve of V8 Supercar racing’s so-called silly season of trading.
"I've certainly enjoyed my first two years with [the Holden Racing Team]. It's a dedicated and focused bunch of people who just want to achieve as much as they can and it gives me the best chance of winning the championship in the next season or two.
“I can go out this weekend at Sandown and concentrate fully on trying to finish up second in this year's championship.”
Still, uncertainty remains. TWR is yet to confirm its team line-ups for next season, with a driver reshuffle expected to accommodate a third TWR franchise – led, reportedly, by Bright.
Team boss Jeff Grech said Bright’s signing, the last of TWR’s all-star squad to commit, brings stability to the operation.
"We invest a lot of time into our people, both drivers and technical staff, and Jason this year has shown the value of that,” he said.
“As we go into the new season and the new challenges, we want to have as settled a group as possible to meet those challenges.”
