Ingall, Richards lead Castrol enduro assault

Former Bathurst winners Russell Ingall and Steven Richards will lead Castrol Perkins Racing’s attack on the endurance events.
Team principal Larry Perkins announced his pairings for next week’s Queensland 500 and October’s Bathurst epic yesterday, including a split with long-time enduro partner Ingall.
Instead, Ingall, in his last year with the Perkins garage, will share the lead car with Richards, while Perkins will partner Konica Series champion Paul Dumbrell.
"Steven and Russell are doing an exceptional job this year and are both in the top ten of the championship," Perkins said, embarking on possibly his final endurance campaign.
"I think our best chance of giving Castrol and Holden a chance of winning another Bathurst is by putting those two guys together.”
That’s not to discount his own chances. Perkins said the partnership with his 20-year-old protégé would be a formidable one.
"I am sure Paul will make the most of his opportunity," he said.
