Queensland motorsport’s favourite son, touring car legend Dick Johnson, will act as Grand Marshall for Queensland’s great race, the VIP Petfoods Queensland 500 in September.

The five-time national champion will wave the chequered flag at the completion of the 500km marathon, round nine of the V8 Supercar series. Johnson will also lead the pre-race drivers’ parade.
"It is an absolute honour to be named Grand Marshall for the Queensland 500," said Johnson, 57, who last year had the Queensland Raceway main straight named in his honour.
General Manager of race promoter Octagon, Michael Rose said Johnson’s public presence was a coup for the event.
Organisers are encouraging fans to pre-purchase their tickets, with a 'hot lap' around the 3.1km circuit among prizes on offer for advance ticket holders.
