The Young Lion Commodore was the real head-turner at yesterday’s Holden Racing Team launch, a fiery new-look car for a hot new talent – 19-year-old whiz-kid Rick Kelly.

The Holden Racing Team has high hopes for the exceptionally talented Victorian, an impressive performer in a handful of late-season races last year.
Kelly appreciates the support of the country’s foremost racing operation (HRT have taken the Young Lion unit back under their wing this season) in his quest to conquer the V8 Supercar league in the coming years.
"It's a great chance for me and I'm very grateful to TWR for taking a punt on me," said Kelly, last year’s Formula Holden champion.
"To have their support plus the technical knowledge and the help of drivers such as Mark (Skaife) and Jason (Bright) gives me an enormous opportunity, as well as an advantage over a lot of other drivers like me trying to get a foothold in the sport."
Kelly’s spectacular VX Commodore will display the number 02 this season, in keeping with the Young Lion theme of the car number matching the calendar year.
Kelly will reunite with 28-year-old Nathan Pretty in the endurance events. The pair drove a K-Mart Commodore in last year’s longer races.
