Ford horde to put Dunlops to the test

18/2/2002 17:03 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - Ford’s Queensland brigade will be among the first to test on the new Dunlop control tyre at Queensland Raceway tomorrow.

Ten drivers will put the Dunlop compound to the test, including Dick Johnson Racing’s Steven Johnson, Paul Radisich and Greg Ritter; Stone Brothers Racing’s Marcos Ambrose, David Besnard and Wayne Gardner; Super Cheap Auto Racing’s Steven Ellery and Luke Youlden; along with Mark Larkham and Paul Weel.

Cameron McLean’s Paragon Motorsport outfit has withdrawn from the session, with a delay in receiving some components for their Falcon. With testing restrictions only allowing one shakedown prior to Adelaide's Clipsal 500, McLean will now test after the non-championship F1 Grand Prix meet in Melbourne.

"Rather than push to get to the track tomorrow we've decided to stay in the workshop and focus on thorough preparation for the Grand Prix,” McLean said.

Earlier today, Glenn Seton tested his new-look Ford Credit Racing Falcon at Winton Raceway in Victoria.
