Personable rookie wins CAMS award

Marcos Ambrose has been named Australian motorsport’s inaugural Personality of the Year by governing body, CAMS.
The Stone brothers’ apprentice, last year’s AVESCO Rookie of the Year, was judged the outstanding star of the 2001 racing season by the motorsport media and CAMS members.
Ambrose, 25, said he was humbled by the award, but was now concentrating on his 2002 championship challenge.
"The pressure's right on this year for me to produce the goods," he said. "I think I've come a long way in my first year and I've learnt a lot; the team, the car, the tracks. I look forward to really capitalizing this year on last year's experience."
