Aaron's slight change of plans to drive V8s

Two-wheeled Kiwi ace Aaron Slight wants to race V8 Supercars.
The former Superbike rider has turned his attention to tin top racing, and yesterday made a flying 24-hour visit to Australia to drive a K-Mart Racing Team Commodore at Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway.
35-year-old Slight, who recently drove a Peugeot in the British Touring Car Championship, could find himself in the K-Mart Racing endurance squad next season with Rick Kelly’s promotion to the Holden Racing Team Young Lion unit.
Slight was forced into premature retirement from motorcycle racing after a blood leak was discovered in his brain. He won 13 times on the world Superbike circuit.
K-Mart racer and fellow New Zealander, Greg Murphy arranged the test for his long-time friend.
“(It’s) great to be able to give him the opportunity to come out and drive,” Murphy told Channel Ten’s Sports Tonight.
Murphy debuted a brand-new Commodore at the pre-Christmas shakedown, which the team will baptise at the opening event of the 2002 season, the non-championship Formula One Grand Prix in Melbourne.
