Mezera in for Brock Jnr. at IMS

6/11/2001 17:25 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - Tomas Mezera will continue his stint with Imrie Motorsport at the V8 International this weekend, and possibly next season, as a replacement for James Brock.

Brock said he parted ways with the IMS outfit due to other commitments. Associate sponsor Biante, closely linked to Brock, has also left the team.

Mezera, who drove with the Holden Racing Team in this year’s endurance events, was a last-minute replacement for Brock at the Indy carnival.

"Tomas' consistent performance in both the Calder and Oran Park rounds of the series made him an obvious choice to fill in at such short notice,” Team Owner Mike Imrie said.

The relationship may continue at the Sandown Raceway finale, according to a team spokesman, and on a more permanent basis next season.
