INDY PRAC - Ingall, Radisich set the pace

The men who dueled in last year’s Gold Coast street fight, Russell Ingall and Paul Radisich, set the pace in today’s opening practice sessions for the V8 Supercar Indy challenge.
Ingall was quickest in his Commodore, clocking a 1:52.90min lap, ahead of Radisich’s Shell Ford.
Ingall, who today refused to rule-out defecting from the Perkins Engineering garage next season, was satisfied with the time at this stage of the meet, while Radisich said he would have gone "quite a bit quicker" than Ingall on a mistake-free lap.
Gold Coast-based Radisich is gunning for an Indy hat-trick this weekend, after taking out the event last year and in 1999.
In his first outing on the daunting Surfers Paradise street circuit, Marcos Ambrose was third quickest, ahead of Mark Skaife and Steven Johnson.
Two practice sessions were held today before tomorrow’s qualifying and Top Ten Shootout.
Both sessions were red-flagged for officials to address a curb-hopping epidemic. Drivers were hauled into the pits and lectured about the matter during both sessions, before practice resumed.
The V8 Supercars will compete over three 30-minute races this weekend: two on Saturday and the final showdown on Sunday morning as a curtain-raiser to the CART race.
