V81000 PENALTIES - Drill sergeants collect cash

9/10/2001 16:49 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - The Confederation of Australian Motorsport (CAMS) had a massive windfall of more than $8000 over the Bathurst weekend.

Stewards found no major on-track offences over the meeting, but still managed to collect $8650 from teams and drivers for minor misdemeanours.

Anthony Tratt’s Toll Racing team copped the biggest fine: $2000 for using an electric power drill in pitlane on Sunday.

Mal Rose was fined for a similar offence, though his cordless drill only cost him $250.

Despite the implementation of pitlane speed limiters, ten drivers were found exceeding the 40kph pitlane speed limit.
