Andrew Miedecke will again partner Pepsi racer Dugal McDougall at the endurance events, it was confirmed today.
51-year-old Miedecke has driven for the team for the past two years, which included a highly-credible eighth at Bathurst last year.
With his wealth of experience, including stints with Mark Larkham, Alan Jones, Allan Moffat and Peter Brock, the team was only too happy to welcome him back to the fold, McDougall said.
“We get along extremely well and we have known each other for a long time,” he said. “He is a very capable steerer with enormous experience and has always done a great job for us.”
Miedecke, who currently leads the Australian NASCAR series, says eighth at Bathurst last year can be bettered.
“I have an enormous amount of time for Dugal as both a driver and person,” Miedecke said.
“He seems to excel in the longer races and combined with the progress the Pepsi Racing team are making with the car after the VX upgrade, it gives me great encouragement that we will build on our 8th place last year.”
Miedecke was expected to test with the team at Melbourne’s Calder Park Raceway yesterday.
