A place of worship for so many fans, the Dick Johnson Racing workshops were transformed into an unlikely wedding chapel yesterday for two of the team’s most devoted.
Long-time Johnson fans Vicki Eyles and Troy Hofmeier tied the knot yesterday at Johnson’s racing headquarters to the far south of Brisbane.
Among Johnson’s collection of his most famous racing machines, and with the man himself among the 60 family and friends watching on, the couple became the first to marry at the multi-million dollar Shell Helix Racing complex.
"Getting married at Dick Johnson Racing is a dream come true for both of us," the new Mrs Hofmeier said.
"We are both such fans and we think this is a fantastic way to celebrate our marriage, and we feel extra special because it’s the first time ever it’s been done at Dick Johnson Racing.”
