Weel, Longhurst to go the 'full monty'
29/5/2001 15:10 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) -
Inspired by the hit British movie, going the ‘full monty’ in front of large groups of people has become an unexplained phenomenon. And two V8 Supercar drivers have caught-on.
Ford young-gun Paul Weel and Rod Nash racer Tony Longhurst will ‘nude-up’ in the name of charity on the Gold Coast tomorrow night.
As part of a local radio promotion, the V8 pair has promised to bare all with other sports and entertainment identities to raise money for the children’s ward of a Gold Coast hospital.
"We’ve been practising for weeks to perfect the show, it’s a highly choreographed number and it’s taken a little bit of work to get it right, but we all the know the moves now and we’re ready to go," Weel said.
"I have to say though there’s no doubt getting my kit off in front of 800 people is going to take more guts than racing around a track at over 200 km/hr, but it’s for charity so why not!"
The 800 tickets on sale to witness the daring escapade were snapped-up within an hour.
