R4S PRE-QUAL - White voted out in survival session

Former V8Lites stars Matthew White and Dean Canto’s tropics excursion has been cut short, ousted in this afternoon’s pre-qualifying session at Hidden Valley.
Nine drivers battled for the six remaining grid positions in the 15-minute session; White, Christian D’Agostin (the latest Imrie Motorsport pilot), and Dean Canto failing to make the grade.
The news was better for the Team Kiwi Racing outfit, with Jason Richards surviving pre-qualifying for the first time this season. The New Zealand ace clocked the fifth fastest time.
Cameron McConville set the fastest time, coming close to the lap record with his 1:09.91 minute lap in typically hot conditions.
Rodney Forbes was second fastest, ahead of David Besnard, Paul Romano and Richards. Tyler Mecklem also survived.
Tomorrow is set to be the busiest Saturday all season, featuring practice, qualifying, the top ten shootout for pole, and a 20-minute sprint race late in the afternoon.
