Besnard chases more sun, surf and success
8/5/2001 22:14 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) -
David Besnard has taken a dramatic step towards improving his lacklustre results so far this season, moving north of the border to be closer to the Stone Brothers Racing operation.
Rotten luck and rookie mistakes have plagued the 24-year-old’s first season in the Shell Series – something Besnard hopes to rectify with the move from Sydney to Queensland.
"It's hard to fully appreciate the effort that goes into putting a V8 team together when you just turn up on the weekend and race," Besnard explained.
"I need to understand the car more so that I can provide the team with more accurate and constructive feedback when testing and racing.
"If that means racing the car around the track on the weekends and driving the broom around the workshop during the week, then so be it!"
Besnard will set up base at Sanctuary Cove on the Gold Coast. The Stone Brothers workshop is located further north at Yatala.
