R3S PENATLIES - Romano hit with big fines

4/5/2001 15:34 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - Paul Romano, like Craig Lowndes, Marcos Ambrose and Greg Murphy, also fell foul of officialdom during last weekend’s controversial meet at Eastern Creek.

Romano Racing was hit with a hefty $2000 fine by race stewards after it was discovered their Commodore’s rev monitor was not logging data on Friday.

In an investigation carried-over from the Clipsal 500, another $750 fine was added to Romano’s tally for breaching the Parc Ferme regulations in Adelaide.

John Faulkner was investigated for the same data-logging matter, but his hearing has been held over until Hidden Valley.

Meanwhile, Brad Jones’ right-hand man (and brother) Kim, together with Larkham Motorsport’s Adam Perry, were both slapped with a $500 fine for their absence from the Team Manager’s briefing.

“Severe reprimands” were given to Anthony Tratt and Glenn Seton; Tratt for a spin during the passenger rides session, Seton for not keeping his distance from the safety car in the first race.
