VALE: Ken Potter, Julie Mork

20/4/2001 11:29 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - The V8 Supercar community lost two of its finest over the weekend in Ken Potter and Julie Mork.

Kenneth Robert Potter, a former high-ranking, much-loved administrator and long-time supporter of the category, lost his long battle with cancer on Sunday.

In Wednesday's Herald Sun newspaper, TEGA's Ray Robbins, on behalf of all V8 Supercar teams, paid homage to Ken for, "making V8 Supercars what it is today."

"(He) will be sadly missed by his many friends in the pits," Robbins wrote.

Ken was farewelled at a funeral service in Melbourne yesterday.

Julie Mork, wife of Konica Series competitor Richard, also succumbed to cancer on Sunday. She was 45.

Julie is survived by Richard and her three sons, Daniel, Mark and Matthew.

Our deepest sympathies go to the family and friends of Ken and Julie.
