Feud resolved: Lowndes free to race after TWR reconciliation

4/3/2001 17:53 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - Craig Lowndes is a free man today, his management contract with Tom Walkinshaw Racing torn up.

Lowndes this morning announced that he and TWR – which held a disputed, long-term contract with Lowndes – would go their separate ways following the driver’s switch to Ford.

After talks with Tom Walkinshaw this weekend (in town to lead his Arrows Formula One team), Lowndes released a short statement following his podium finish this morning announcing the so-called reconciliation.

“Both parties have expressed satisfaction with the development of the resolution, and wish each other the best for future endeavours,” the statement said.

Walkinshaw had threatened legal action after Lowndes walked out of the Holden Racing Team mid-way through his contract with Walkinshaw last year.

Details of the split, including any possible contract buy-out, have not been released.
