Grice unseated in QLD election

18/2/2001 14:31 (V8 Wire - Jason Whittaker) - Former V8 Supercar driver Allan Grice has lost his seat in Queensland Parliament after yesterday’s startling state election.

In what many political commentators described as the boilover of the night, the National Party’s Grice was unseated in his Gold Coast electorate of Broadwater by the all-conquering Labour Party. A 14 percent swing against Grice helped Labour’s Peta-Kaye Croft to the seat.

Two-time Bathurst winner Grice has represented Broadwater in Queensland Parliament since the electorate was formed in 1992.
