Ford to lead the way after exclusive safety coup

Ford have ensured one of its cars will always lead this year’s V8 Supercar field, after gaining exclusive rights to supply safety car vehicles to the V8 Supercar circuit.

Ford Falcon XR8’s will be used as the official safety car and course car at all Supercar events in 2001, after Ford clinched the deal yesterday.
Said Ford Racing Chief Howard Marsden; “Ford is delighted to have the exclusive manufacturer involvement with the AVESCO safety and course car program for 2001, and we expect it will generate a lot of interest both on and off the track.”
Munroe and Tenneco will again support AVESCO’s safety car program.
