NRC Racing’s Dale Brede has completed his fourth and final V8 Supercar test ahead of next month’s Konica Series kick-off.
Brede and the NRC Racing outfit (formerly from Formula Holden fame) finished the team’s extensive pre-season testing program at Phillip Island last Thursday, setting times to suggest Brede will be a front-runner come round one at Wakefield Park.
"We are racing to win this season, so our testing program has been vigorous to say the least,” 25-year-old Brede said.
“We achieved all of our performance goals at Wakefield Park, Winton and Phillip Island over the past three months and the team engineers will examine every byte of data gained during these tests to ensure that we come out firing at Wakefield in three weeks time," he said.
The latest test saw the ex-Smerdon Commodore clock times of 1:35.5 – enough to place Brede in the top three at last year’s Phillip Island Lites round.
"I feel very confident with my driving and with the engineering expertise that we have at NRC Racing so I can't wait to start this next exciting step of my career," Brede said.
NRC Racing will campaign the complete Konica Series, before, hopefully, tackling the endurance events later in the year.
The team will load the Commodore into their newly acquired Mercedes Benz Prime Mover and ex-Gibson Motorsport three-birth transporter to make the trek to Wakefield Park for February 24-25.
