D'Alberto on podium for first round

Tony D'Alberto had his best V8 Supercar meeting to date at Round one of the HPDC V8 Supercar Series finishing third overall on the Adelaide street circuit.
After qualifying fourth and placing third in Race 1 Tony went into Race 2 on Saturday in a good position for a podium finish. Race 2 was briefly interrupted by a Safety Car period which added three laps to the 24 lap race. Tony drove a consistent race and was unchallenged for third place beyond the early laps.
“It is great to start the year with such a solid finish and some good points. Getting this first meeting out of the way has given us the opportunity to see where we are at compared to our opposition,”Tony said.
“The whole team had worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to get the car ready for Round 1 and we could not have done it without them. The result today is a credit to everyone involved from sponsors to the crew,” Team Manager Al D’Alberto commented.
“We will be working hard in the weeks before Round 2 to improve our speed and hopefully we can convert that to even better results,” Tony added.
Round two of the HPDC V8 Supercar Series is at NSW’s Wakefield Park on 13-15 May.
