ADELAIDE ACTION BEGINS FOR ORRCON RACING

Larkham – Orrcon Racing drivers Mark Winterbottom and Jason Bargwanna will start tomorrow’s opening race of the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship in Adelaide from Championship at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide from 20th and 23rd positions respectively.

Thoughts on today’s qualifying:
“I got caught up in traffic while I was on a flying lap during qualifying which cost me several tenths, which is the difference between being just outside the top ten and being further back.
“We have definitely improved the car throughout the day but we still have an issue getting the power to the ground out of the turns.
“Tomorrow will be all about keeping out of trouble in the first half of the race and setting ourselves up for the second half of the race.”

Thoughts on today’s qualifying:
“While we definitely improved our pace and the set up of the car during the day we are still a bit behind where we would like to be in the set up.
It is disappointing because I was on a flyer of a lap late in the session and was sixth tenths of a second up on my previous best before I had a throttle sensor problem late in the lap which cost me a heap of time. That was the difference between 23rd and 7th.
Tomorrow is another day with a long race and I am confident of moving up the order.”

“The first target is to finish and history shows that if you have good speed, as I suspect we will have, simply getting to the finish should ensure a good result.”
