BigPond V8 Supercar Website revved up for 2005
7/4/2005 18:51 (Press Release) -
The multi-award winning BigPond Broadband V8 Supercar website www.v8supercar.bigpond.com today has been officially relaunched with a range of new features and upgrades as a direct response to feedback from fans.
BigPond Managing Director, Justin Milne says that V8 fans have embraced the site and its great features.
“Even though the site has picked up the top interactive media awards nationally, we want to keep making it better,” Mr Milne said.
“We’ve listened to what the fans have told us. Top of their wish list is the ability to customise the site to suit their individual needs. As a result, V8 Supercar fans with BigPond Broadband can now set up key features to suit personal preferences and interests.
“For example fans can now easily move components such as live timing, chat and the media player around the screen,” he said.
“We’ve also upgraded the timing system so fans can select up to ten cars to follow live.
“This will be great for fans with favourite drivers and who want to follow their every lap,” Mr Milne said.
“V8 Supercars on BigPond Broadband will continue to push the boundaries of cutting edge web content technology to provide customers with the best online motorsport experience available,” he said.
‘Behind the scenes’ content also is getting a boost on the relaunched site. The popular weekly webcast program “PanelBeaters” returns in 2005 with a series of live events scheduled at rounds including Hidden Valley, Bathurst and Phillip Island.
Following on from the success of the “Red Diaries”, V8 Supercars on BigPond Broadband will produce similar programs with both Ford and Holden throughout the year while highlights packages of each round will now be produced daily and have been expanded to cover a cross section of activities from throughout the day.
For those fans that don’t have access to broadband, more of the BigPond Broadband content has been integrated into the narrowband website at www.v8supercar.com.au, and where possible, the site will feature text, audio and video components.
