LIONS ROAR WILL BE MUSIC TO MAXS’ EARS
7/4/2005 18:34 (Press Release) -
Brazilian V8 Supercar driver Max Wilson has been secured to drive the Longhurst Racing’s Holden Commodore car 45 at this year’s V8 Supercars opening round Adelaide’s Clipsal 500.
An elated Wilson said – “I am very excited with the offer from Tony, we first met at Briggs Motorsport back in my introductory year to the V8’s in 2002 and we have remained friends ever since.
“This will be an exciting weekend not only for me as a driver, but also for the new ‘WOW Sight & Sound’ sponsored team, I’m very much looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the Holden Commodore and the team have done a great job on the cars preparation”.
“This is a very demanding race across two days and requires total concentration as well as pace for the duration of each of the two races, hopefully the temperature on the weekend will be a little kinder to us this year”.
“Although I haven’t driven the car before, I will have both practice sessions and qualifying tomorrow in which to settle into the car and I really don’t have any problem with changing makes as a professional driver”.
Tony Longhurst was equally optimistic, “saying it’s great to have Max on board for this race, he has shown he has the speed when required and he certainly qualifies very well, we just need to convert his efforts into a podium finish on the day”.
“The car is superb, and with our new sponsors “WOW Sight & Sound on board everything is looking very promising for this opening round” said Longhurst.
