John Bowe and Brad Jones, aboard their Team BOC Falcons V8 Supercars have shown that yesterday’s amazing one-two result at the Australian Formula One Grand Prix was no fluke with a solid performance during today’s third and final race.

Portraying a perfect sight for new sponsors BOC, the two Fords stood proudly on the front row of the grid for the race start, with Bowe getting a blinder off the line as the flag dropped. It was the opposite for Jones, who had dropped from 2nd to 5th going into the first corner.

As the race unveiled, Team BOC proved that they were capable of holding their own. Bowe and Jones kept at bay most of the more fancied, higher budget teams, with Bowe eventually crossing the line in 5th and Jones right behind him in 6th.

Qualified: 11th
Race 1: 11th
Race 2: 1st
Race 3: 5th

Quotes: John Bowe
“I was really happy with my start but I always knew that I wouldn’t be able to stay in the lead. The tyres we were using weren’t all that good, certainly not good enough to be leading the race. The changes we have made to the car over the weekend have beenproductive and we have ended up with an acceptable race car in the end. It’s been an amazing weekend for me and all the team, yesterday was just incredible. I’m going home now to cook a few sausages on the BBQ and watch the Formula One race on TV.”

Brad Jones - #21 Team BOC Ford Falcon

Qualified: 28th
Race 1: 24th
Race 2: 2nd
Race 3: 6th

Quotes: Brad Jones
“My start was just a shocker. I’m not quite sure what happened, I’ll have to look at the data to see if it was my reaction time or the car bogging down. As soon as I had got into a rhythm in the race though, I was very happy with my Team BOC Falcon. As the race went on, it came into it’s own and I was able to keep up with the front runners. There were certainly a few cars that I’ve spent time looking at the back of that were this time in my rear vision mirror. I’m really looking forward to the Clipsal 500 and I think all the team are as well. It’s been a fantastic start to the season.”
