BOTH FPR FALCONS IN OPENING GP RACE TOP TEN

Today's opening ten lap V8 Supercar race at the Australian
Grand Prix saw CAT FPR Falcon driver Jason Bright finish 5th and Ford Credit
FPV Falcon driver Greg Ritter race into the top ten at 9th.
Bright started from second on the grid and spent most of the short sprint race
defending second position despite some oversteer problems and an impact with a
tyre bundle that bent his steering.
Ritter made up one position to 11th at the start of the race and continued his
impressive FPR debut race in the three day old Ford Credit FPV Falcon to finish
within the top ten.
Today's race was won by Holden driver Todd Kelly with Ford's Marcos Ambrose
second and Mark Skaife (Holden) third.
#6 Jason Bright - "The car had too much corner entry oversteer making it very
hard to drive. I had to try too hard to maintain the pace that we needed to
stay in second position and I clipped the tyres on the second last corner with
three laps to go. This bent the steering and this allowed Skaife and Ingall
through. We will work on some changes to get the balance we want for tomorrow
and Sunday's races."
#5 Greg Ritter - "A good way to start off the year - the car emerged unscathed
and we are slowly progressing towards the front of the field. I have to say
that I was surprised to be gaining on the leading pack during the race given
how few miles we have done. We certainly learned more about the 2005 chassis
during the race and we will look at this data to further improve it for the
next two races."
FPR Chief Engineer, Phil Keed - "It is always good to finish the opening race
here at Albert Park with two straight cars - Greg moved forward and Jason had
some troubles with a nervous car - but overall the race was a step forward and
we have a direction for tomorrow. We are looking forward to the races ahead.
FPR returns to Melbourne's Albert Park Grand Prix circuit for Saturday's main
event, the GP 100 - a 19 lap V8 Supercar feature race scheduled at 2:30pm.
