17/3/2005 17:19 (Press Release) -
• Newsagency sales of the inaugural V8 Supercar Yearbook have finished
• The book was a huge hit, with many newsagencies selling out early in its sales run
• Internet sales will continue at v8yearbook.com
The first official V8 Supercar Yearbook has finished its time on the shelves of Australian newsagencies, but will continue to be available online at v8yearbook.com.
Sales of the V8 Supercar Yearbook exceeded all expectations, with many newsagencies selling out early in the two and a half month sales period.
“The early run was quite amazing,” Yearbook photographer Mark Horsburgh said from his Queensland base this week. “We thought we had built a good book, but you never know until other people see it.
“We still have some books left that we didn’t send out, and we will sell these through the v8yearbook.com website and maybe at race tracks where the series travels. We’ve also already sat down to work out what to do with this year’s book, we want it to evolve a little more and we will certainly make some changes to have that happen.”
Volume 1 of the Yearbook covers the entire Championship Series as well as the Development Series. It has comprehensive statistics from each round, as well a fascinating wrap-up of the year in figures.
If you want to know the average qualifying position of each driver of the main drivers in the Series, or want to find out who gained and lost the most spots on races, the V8 Supercar Yearbook is the only place.
Volume 2, covering the 2005 V8 Supercar Championship Series will be on sale in December 2005, while sales of Volume 1 will continue on the internet ( v8yearbook.com) until all stock has gone.
SAM Media is Scott Wensley, Andrew Clarke and Mark Horsburgh.
