Team BOC Go To Auction For Good Cause

BJR’s and BOC’s partnership has today gone further than the naming rights
sponsorship of their two Ford V8 Supercars, with the announcement that the
two have joined forces to help the victims of the disastrous Asian Tsunami.
BJR have donated the ultimate petrol-head thrill - two exhilarating ‘hot
laps’ inside their 630 horsepower V8 Team BOC Supercars.
The hotlaps have been put to auction on eBay and the two highest bidders
will receive the ride of their life with either Brad Jones or John Bowe with
the funds going directly to the Tsunami Appeal.
BOC have also added further incentive by announcing they will match dollar
for dollar the final amount raised by this auction.
Staff at the global gas giant have already raised over $45,000 for the
cause, which will also be matched by management. Their generosity has
motivated the team at BJR to follow suit.
“This is a disaster that has effected every corner of the world and everyone
needs to do their bit to help out the devastated countries” Team BOC driver
and BJR principal, Brad Jones explained, “BOC staff are doing a great job
and we decided it was time for the team to step up and get involved”
BOC have joined BJR for the V8 Supercar main series for the first time in
2005. At the official launch Brad Jones sent a strong message that this
will be the most dynamic season for his team as an outfit and having BOC as
a naming rights sponsor gives them the best platform for the new season
onslaught.
“Joining forces with BOC on this cause is proof that we are working with
them to achieve the best possible results, on and off the track,” Jones
stated.
Commenting on the internal effort made by staff, BOC’s Director of Marketing
Bruce Currie said “We are extremely proud with the effort and passion that
staff have displayed in rasing these much needed funds for the Tsunami
victims. We congratulate our staff and Team BOC in maximising our overall
contribution to the cause.”
The winning bidders will be able to claim their hot lap at the closest V8
Supercar round in the 2005 season. To place a bid punters need to go to
www.ebay.com.au and search for Team BOC, Brad
Jones or John Bowe, where they will be able to see the current
state-of-affairs of the auction. The auction will run from the 18th of
February, ending at midnight on the 22nd of February 2005.
