BigPond Broadband V8 Supercars website wins national Interactive Media awards

BigPond’s V8 Supercars broadband website has been selected as the “Best of the Best” at the Australian Interactive Media Industry Association’s 11th annual national awards in Sydney.
Not only did it pick up the top prize of the night, www.v8supercar.bigpond.com also was judged the “Best Entertainment” site and “Best Sport” site in the country. The awards were judged by more than 100 of the top names in the Australian on-line and interactive media industry.
BigPond Managing Director Justin Milne says: "We're all absolutely delighted by this win. It's a huge endorsement by the work done over the last couple of years by the BigPond Media, BigPond Marketing, Massive Interactive and Chief Entertainment.
“It's also a great testament to the wonderful cooperation and good spirit which has been shown between AVESCO who own and run the V8 Supercar series, Channel Ten, the broadcaster of the series and BigPond as broadband content rights holder and sponsor of the series.
The BigPond Broadband V8 Supercar site features:

§ More than 200 video clips of race highlights, driver interviews and ‘magic moments’ from as far back as 1997.
§ Exclusive video programs such as 2004’s “The Red Diaries” - an insight into trackside life with the Holden Racing Team
§ More than 6000 great V8 photos as well as screensavers and wallpapers.
BigPond also provides a V8 Supercars narrowband site for dial-up users and non-BigPond customers featuring a wide range of news and content
“The V8 Supercars broadband site is an extremely important endeavour for us. It differentiates BigPond from every other ISP and we're now selling hundreds of new connections each month which we can directly relate to our V8 content,” Mr Milne said.
“And soon we will be unveiling a number of great new features for the V8 Supercar broadband site to make it even better in 2005,” he said.
