Garry Rogers Motorsport launches bold new look for 2005

16/2/2005 18:32 (Press Release) - The Repco Valvoline Cummins GRM team has launched their new paint design for the coming 2005 season. Whilst still maintaining much of the previous paint and signage design that has over the years become a trademark of the GRM team, the new look is sure to turn heads up and down pit lane in 2005.

“With one of the longest standing sponsorship arrangements not only in motorsport but in sport in general, it was very important not to confuse the public with some radical boffin feel good look,” commented team boss Garry Rogers.

“A lot of race car designs are pretty to look at, but do not focus strongly enough on brand and sponsor recognition.

“When it’s all said and done that is what sponsors pay for and rightfully expect. We are fortunate to have sponsors who share the same colours, and we have always been able to deliver our sponsors message.

“We are also aware that today the fans and supporters look forward to seeing what design you have created each season and I believe we have been able to achieve both these goals with our new design.”

Cam McConville, the last driver to win a V8 Supercar round for GRM, was also enthusiastic about the new look.

“I think it’s important at the start of a new season for the team to make a statement, and the modernised colour scheme certainly does that,” commented McConville.

New recruit to the GRM team, Andrew Jones, supported McConville’s endorsement of the new look.

“I think the new colour scheme is very gutsy,” says the reigning Development Series Champion.

“The design is outstanding, and importantly, the cars also look great under the bonnet and around the mechanicals!”

According to Rogers, the Repco Valvoline Cummins team is in good shape heading into what promises to be another competitive season of V8 Supercar racing.

“The entire GRM team took only a small break over the Christmas period, and we’ve been working away throughout January to ensure we’re ready to go when the AGP comes around.

“The cars are almost finished now and you can sense the excitement starting to build around the workshop as we draw closer to the season.”
