Walkinshaw in management role at Holden Motorsport

It was announced today that Scottish businessman, Tom Walkinshaw, will take a contracted management role at Holden Motorsport in 2005. Walkinshaw has been appointed to oversee operations in which a Chief Executive Officer from overseas, to be resident in Australia, will also be appointed in the new year.
The motorsport operation is responsible for supplying technology, service, research and development for V8 Holden Supercar teams including Holden Racing Team, Kmart Racing, PWR Racing and Tasman Motorsport.
Walkinshaw, ex-owner of Holden Racing Team, is keen to reinforce his Holden Special Vehicle interests with a relevant Australian motorsport involvement.
The addition of his expertise will strengthen the existing management structure and help improve Holden’s teams’ engineering resource base in the increasingly competitive world of V8 Supercars.
The operation will continue to be 100 per cent owned by Holden.
