HRT duo cut through field

11/1/2005 16:10 (Press Release) - Race #2: 1st Ambrose, 2nd Raddisich, 3rd Lowndes
Race #3: 1st Ambrose, 2nd Skaife, 3rd Ingall
Mark Skaife:
Car 2 (#50) – Race #2 (39 Laps)
Position – 7th
Fastest lap – 1:34.32 (Lap 6)

Car 2 (#50) – Race #3 (39 Laps)
Position – 2nd

“The weekend certainly finished a whole lot better than it started. Working our way from the back of the grid we ran seventh in Race 2 and a hard fought second in Race 3.

The dice with Ingall went on for over 30 laps and was the highlight of the race. Keeping him at bay made my day and was a performance of yesteryear by HRT.

Although we struggled for tyre quality, there was plenty of car speed and the car was a fast as Ambrose’s despite torturing the tyres in the process.

There’s a great message for the fans in all of this, and a pointer to 2005 where our luck must turn for the better. We have the Team, the development in place and the car to do the job in 2005.”

Todd Kelly:
Car 22 (#49) – Race #2 (39 Laps)
Position – 12th
Fastest lap – 1:35.48 (Lap 7)

Car 22 (#49) – Race #3 (39 Laps)
Position – 5th

“It was great to work up to a good position through the day. I managed to press on and stay out of trouble after changing the set up prior to both races, which improved our race pace.

The problem is conserving tyres working through the pack and being able to challenge the leaders.

It was a positive note to end the year and I’m sure our two new cars in 2005 will benefit from the last few races in 2004. Watch out next year!”
