Ford Performance Racing (FPR) and Ford Performance Vehicles
(FPV) are delighted to announce the signing of a long term commercial alliance
with South Pacific Tyres in line with the release of the newest member of the
FPV family, the F6 Typhoon.
The new agreement confirms that premium quality Dunlop high performance tyres
continue to be fitted as Original Equipment to the entire Ford Performance
Vehicles (FPV) range of Total Performance road cars. Dunlop’s foundation
involvement with FPV in designing high performance tyres to suit the company’s
popular GT, GT-P and Pursuit models continues as the exciting FPV range grows
to include the powerful F6 Typhoon, Australia’s highest torque producing car,
the acclaimed Mk11 GT, GT-P and Pursuit models, and the soon to be released
F6 Tornado ute variant.
This agreement is also supported by South Pacific Tyres’ marketing decision to
continue the Dunlop brand's primary sponsorship of the Ford Performance Racing
(FPR) V8 Supercar team, a high exposure branding strategy that commenced in
early 2004.
Dunlop is the official tyre supplier to the Australian V8 Supercar Championship
Series, an important role in which the South Pacific Tyres brand has held since
2002. During the past three seasons, Dunlop has distributed more than 24,000
outstanding quality V8 Supercar tyres to teams competing in the world's most
competitive Touring Car series.
Testimony to the racing and high performance road car tyre development
expertise of South Pacific Tyres' is the fact that the Dunlop control V8
Supercar tyre reliably performs on 14 different circuits all over Australia and
in New Zealand, in all weather extremes and in both sprint and endurance
events. Dunlop also provides all V8 Supercar teams with valuable technical
support drawing from the company's vast experience in local and global motor
racing competition.
The technical lessons learned through years of front line motor racing and road
car tyre design, manufacture and testing, results in the uncompromised grip
offered by Dunlop high performance road tyres found as Original Equipment on
the entire FPV range.
