26/11/2004 21:40 (Press Release) - All primary and secondary aged children are invited to attend the BigPond Grand Finale at Eastern Creek Raceway on Friday 3rd December free of charge, AVESCO Chairman Tony Cochrane announced today.

The ‘Kids Day’ initiative will enable Sydney schools to bring excursion groups to experience the final round of the 2004 V8 Supercar championship without having to pay the normal entry fee.

Students will be granted free access to the circuit on ‘Kids Day’ and will be invited to watch the on-track action, tour the V8 Supercar paddock area and attend some special ‘Kids Day’ activities.

AVESCO Chairman Tony Cochrane said ‘Kids Day’ was part an ongoing marketing initiative to build a younger fan base.

“Kids Day is a fantastic initiative that allows us to expose the younger generation to the V8 Supercar Championship Series,” Cochrane said.

“We have ramped up our V8 Supercar Schools program and visited eleven schools throughout Australia this year.

“By creating ‘Kids Day’ at events we are able to reach a much greater number of children,” Cochrane said.

As well as free entry there will be a host of activities for the student’s to join in, including meet and greet sessions with V8 Supercar drivers and rides in the ‘Milky Way Kids Zone’.

A series of special interviews will be held throughout the day on the ‘Kids Day’ stage in the V8 Supercar paddock where students will be able to pose questions to V8 Supercar drivers, team managers and other key figures from Australia’s premiere motorsport category.

All children will be able to visit the ‘Milky Way Kids Zone’ entertainment area over the three days of the BigPond Grand Finale.

The ‘Milky Way Kids Zone’ will have a selection of rides and activities, Milky Way giveaways and on Sunday 5th December a special visit from Santa.
