Official Statement From Steve Ellery Racing

9/11/2004 18:39 (Press Release) - Steve Ellery Racing (SER) have today announced that, after a four and a half
year association, the arrangement with principal sponsor Super Cheap Auto
has ended.

With the contract between the two parties originally ceasing at the end of
this year, Super Cheap Auto today surprisingly instructed SER to remove its
signage from their race car.

In a statement from Team Principal Bruce Ellery, he has assured all SER and
V8 Supercar fans that, as far as the team are concerned, it is business as
usual for 2004 and that significant plans are in place for an expanded
operation in 2005.

“Obviously we are disappointed that Super Cheap Auto have decided to end our
association before the end of the season. For SER, not only do we have a
dedicated Development Series campaign in place for 2005, but our plan to run
two cars in the main series remains totally unchanged.”

“We will continue our efforts in 2004 and we are very much looking forward
to the future,” Ellery concluded.

In further team news, local hero Steven Ellery has bounced back at the Indy
300, securing a well-earned place in tomorrow’s Top Ten Shootout. Ellery’s
ninth position after qualifying was his second best result for 2004.

Ellery looked in control around the Surfers Paradise street circuit this
afternoon with the setup of his BA Falcon a credit to the SER team. The
Gold Coast based outfit now ready to pounce during tomorrow’s shootout and
opening race.
