Bathurst 1000: Hour 4

At the end of the fourth hour the safety car retreated to the pits leaving defending race champion Rick Kelly holding a narrow lead over Greg Ritter in the Pirtek Stone Brothers Falcon.
Kelly and Ritter are now in the process ok skipping away in front ahead of the third placed Castrol Commodore of Steven Richards. Cameron McConville sits in fourth position ahead of Mark Winterbottom with Cameron McLean rounding out the top six.
Over ten cars are still in contention although Jason Bright and Paul Weel are slipping further downfield after Bright caused a full course yellow after spinning into the sand trap at Hell Corner.
Several cars have reported to the pits with tyres shedded by shrapnel from incident debris.
