Bathurst 1000: Hour 3
10/10/2004 13:21 (Mark Jones) -
Defending race champion Rick Kelly leads the race in the K-Mart Commodore ending the third hour from Steven Richards in the Castrol Commodore.
Greg Ritter sits in thirdposition in the Stone Brothers Pirtek Falcon ahead of John Bowe in the surviving Ozemail Falcon with Cameron McConville and Paul Radisich rounding out the top six in a race the still refuses tosettle into a pattern.
Drama during the third hour was limited too Alan Gurr losing the Sirromet Commodore running through Reid Park and clouting the wall, ending their race, prompting Paul Morris to make dire predictions about the future of Alan Gurr's career.
The only other incident of note was Lee Holdsworth in the Smith's Trucks Commodore drifting wide at Forrests Elbow, brushing the wallon exit, deranging the front right corner of the car, putting them out of the race. The second Team Dynamik Commodore of Dale Brede and Will Davison has also retired from the race.
