
V8 Brutes join exciting entertainment program for BigPond Grand Finale

The Ford versus Holden V8 Brutes will headline the support program at the final round of the 2004 V8 Supercar Championship Series - the BigPond Grand Finale, it was announced today.
The BigPond Grand Finale will feature the most comprehensive support category program as well as two sensational days of family entertainment including a night-time fireworks display, children’s entertainment area and a very special F/A-18 fly over.
AVESCO Chairman Tony Cochrane said he was pleased to have the V8 Brutes join the BigPond Grand Finale support program.
“We are absolutely delighted to have the V8 Brutes appear at the final round of the championship,” Mr Cochrane said.
“Their inclusion will ensure the crowd are entertained by the most exciting weekend of motorsport possible.
The unique Saturday program will start later and include a 100km V8 Supercar twilight race followed by a brilliant fire works display.
“By starting the day later and putting on a twilight V8 Supercar race we are giving families who have work or sporting commitments in the morning, time to come to the track and see a full day of racing,” Mr Cochrane said.
“We are currently putting together our pre-race entertainment package which will include a flyover by an F/A-18 fighter plane, a performance by the Army band and appearances by some very special guests.
“As well as the exceptional program of entertainment fans will be able to mingle with the thirteen Australasian finalists of the Batercard Miss V8 Supergirl,” Mr Cochrane added.
The star studded V8 Brutes field will include newly crowned champion Damien White, twice Bathurst winner and touring car legend Alan Grice, ex Sydney Roosters rugby league star Jack Elsegood, Sunrise TV presenter Grant Denyer and country singer Adam Brand.
While the V8 Brutes will race for round honours the Aussie Racers, Historic Touring Cars, and Lotus Championship will all crown their champions at the BigPond Grand Finale.
In another coup for Sydney fans, anyone who pre purchases a Grandstand ticket for the BigPond Grand Finale will automatically go into the draw to win a the ultimate Sony home theatre package valued at over $21,000.00.
The SONY Wega home theatre package will include a 50 inch widescreen Plasma TV, stand & receiver and surround sound system.
