2/10/2004 22:03 (Press Release) -
Fresh from a great result at the Betta Electrical Sandown 500 in Melbourne earlier this month Orrcon Racing V8 Supercar driver Mark Winterbottom will be heading south to Adelaide later this week to visit Orrcon staff and customers.
Winterbottom, who joined team mate Jason Bargwanna to finish sixth at Sandown, is one of the rising stars in the V8 Supercar Championship will make his first stop of the Adelaide visit at Hills Industries tomorrow morning.
With Hills Industries one of the largest employers in South Australia it will provide the Gold Coast based 23-year-old an opportunity to meet and greet the large number of staff. Many of whom will also take the opportunity to get a personally signed Orrcon Racing poster.
“The partnership between Larkham Motor Sport and Orrcon is more than just a sponsorship deal where we have our name on the car, the team is a huge part of our marketing and customer relationship program,” said Orrcon Sponsorship and Events Manager, Stewart Smith.
“Our staff and customers are the main focus of our involvement with the V8 Supercar Championship, we want to make them feel as much a part of the crew as the team themselves.”
“It is great that the staff and our customers can have a common interest and feel that it is “their” team and “their” drivers on the race track.”
Following his visit to Hills Industries at Edwardstown Winterbottom will head south to Orrcon’s manufacturing plant at O’Sullivans Beach where Orrcon produces its range of Precision and Orrsteel Products.
With 200 employees at the Orrcon site Winterbottom will speak with staff at the change of shift about his debut season in the V8 Supercar Championship and thoughts on Australia’s great race, the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 at Bathurst.
On Thursday Winterbottom will complete a visit to numerous Orrcon customers in the Adelaide metropolitan region beginning at Pacemaker Headers at Richmond followed by a chat to the staff at Pro-steel at Greenfields.
In the afternoon the staff at Pyrotech, Trojan Fire, Origin Energy and Firefab will have the opportunity to speak one on one with Winterbottom about the Championship since he was last in Adelaide at the Clipsal 500 for the season opener.
With Orrcon’s large presence in Adelaide the Clipsal 500 kick started the corporate hospitality for 2004 into top gear with 200 people enjoying opportunity to build their customer relations throughout the weekend.
“We are always looking at different ideas to ensure that the ongoing relationship between Orrcon and our customers is always improving,” said Smith.
“Our corporate facilities at the track are a key factor in our customer relations which is further enhanced by our personalized visits by our drivers to our customers.”
The next round of the V8 Supercar Championship will be held at Mount Panorama in Bathurst, NSW on October 7-10.
