Paddock pass provides value for money at Bob Jane T-Marts 1000
18/9/2004 17:57 (Press Release) -
The ever popular paddock pass offered to fans during the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 will have rejuvenated appeal on October 7-10, when the more modern 36 car pit garage complex is showcased for the first time at Bathurst’s famous Mount Panorama circuit.
The new high-tech pits and race control complex will be the centrepiece of a $24 million dollar redevelopment project, being funded by the State and Federal Governments along with circuit owners Bathurst Regional Council.
Patrons of this year’s ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN can become a part of history as the first members of the general public to gaze upon the contemporary facility, that also boasts a state of the art control tower, new media centre and numerous corporate hospitality function areas.
“The behind the scenes operations of the Australian V8 Supercar teams are very professional under pressure-packed situations during the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000,” said IMG Director of Motorsport James O’Brien.
“To witness the processes involved in having these powerful machines performing at their optimum is a real eye-opener and one which can only be appreciated by incorporating paddock access as part of your ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN experience.
“The 15 by 8 metre individual pit bays represent a lay-out that will ensure all workings of each team will be easily visible.
“From preparing the vehicles, reviewing data, strategising a race plan and even consultations between drivers and engineers, individuals will gain a bird’s eye view of the top V8 Supercar teams as they prepare for battle at Mount Panorama.”
Following last weekends action-packed Betta Electrical 500, the hopes and desires of supporters from both the Holden and Ford camps will now hinge on their teams’ ability to conquer the Mountain during the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.
Holden will be shooting for an unprecedented six straight victories while Ford will hope to reproduce the form that saw them fill the podium in Melbourne last weekend.
“With the V8 Supercar Series now fully fixed on the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 we’re expecting the massive swell of interest among race fans to further intensify over the next three weeks.
“To date the response has been truly remarkable with a significant uptake of grandstand and general ticketing.
“I think it would be fair to say campgrounds have experienced their best ever record for pre-purchase sales in the 42 year history of the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN, to a point where we now have contingency plans in place if we sell out.
“Rest assured anyone requiring campsite accommodation over the weekend will be guaranteed their place at the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.
Meantime there remains just a little over a week before the September 24 deadline to pre-purchase grandstand tickets and go in the draw to win a unique prize pack courtesy of Dunlop, Ford Performance Racing, PWR Racing and Bob Jane T-Marts.
All purchasers of grandstand seating automatically qualify for the draw for the ULTIMATE race experience, where a lucky fan will be ushered to the Ford Performance Racing or PWR Racing team pit garage and taken on a guided tour by drivers competing in the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000.
Complementing the on-track experience, the winner will also receive a set of four Dunlop SP3000A tyres, fitted and balanced at any Bob Jane T-Marts store in Australia.
Dunlop is the official supplier of tyres to the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster7.com or by calling 1300 136 122.
