Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 shapes as all-round record breaker
10/9/2004 12:44 (Press Release) -
Officials of the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 are scrambling to implement contingency plans to cater to the massive demand for tickets and campsites for this year’s ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN on October 7-10.
This weekend’s Betta Electrical Sandown 500 will serve as the ideal preliminary to perhaps one of the biggest ever gatherings at Mount Panorama early next month.
Australian V8 Supercar drivers will acquaint themselves with their respective driving partner during the first round of the 2004 endurance Event schedule, before embarking on their assault during the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN.
An assault that is destined to be played out in front of record crowds during all four days of what has become the pinnacle Event on the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series calendar.
“Such has been the response to this year’s Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 that plans have had to be implemented for both the sale of Grandstand seating and the overall availability of campsites throughout the Mount Panorama racing circuit,” said IMG Director of Motorsport James O’Brien.
“For the third time this year we have extended the covered Bob Jane Stand by an additional 108 seats to cater to the demand which brings its revamped capacity to more than 600 people.
“Grandstand #9 has been extended by an additional 120 seats and we are just a few hundred sites short of reaching the regular capacity for the five Mount Panorama campgrounds.
“The Max Cameron Campground will be extended to provide an additional 500 sites.
“This represents an unprecedented response to the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN but one which will be serviced to ensure anyone still wishing to attend the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 will be assured their rightful place over the four days of the Event.
“If anything, there is added incentive for fans to pre-purchase their tickets and campsites as it is evident that 2004 will represent history in the making during the annual Bathurst feature.”
Time is slowly running out to be entered into the draw for a unique Grandstand pre-purchase ticketing prize being coordinated through Bob Jane T-Marts, Dunlop, plus the Ford Performance Racing and PWR Racing teams.
All purchasers of grandstand seating automatically qualify for the draw for the ULTIMATE race experience, where a lucky fan will be ushered to the Ford Performance Racing or PWR Racing team pit garage and taken on a guided tour by drivers competing in the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000.
Complementing the on-track experience, the winner will also receive a set of four Dunlop SP3000A tyres, fitted and balanced at any Bob Jane T-Marts store in Australia.
Dunlop is the official supplier of tyres to the Australian V8 Supercar Championship Series.
Tickets can be purchased through Ticketmaster7.com or by calling 1300 136 122.
“September 24 marks the deadline for this unique competition and is also the cut-off for pre-purchased campsite bookings so we can’t stress enough the importance of getting in now,” added O’Brien.
“The purpose of our Event structure is to try and have all aspects of the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN experience sorted out before hand so patrons can enjoy every minute of the action.
“But campsites will be offered for sale at the Event, pending availability.”
