Holden Young Lions announce enduro line up

10/9/2004 12:42 (Press Release) - John Faulkner Racing’s Holden Young Lions today fianlised their V8 Supercar Championship endurance line up, going with raw youth and experience, signing HYL series regular Kurt Wimmer to partner test driver and Commodore Cup ace Christian D’Agostin.

Team owner John Faulkner said “Young Kurt’s improved all year and showed me at Mallala he deserved this opportunity.”

The just turned 20 year old Kurt Wimmer said “I am really looking forward to the Sandown and Bathurst endurance races with the main game. It will certainly be a challenge but one to look forward to.

"JF Racing and the Holden Young lions team have been fantastic in the Konica Minolta series and hopefully I can give them some kind of reward for this.”

Utilising D’Agostin who has previous Bathurst experience with Wimmer will fast track the speed that the HYL Commodore has shown in the Konica Minolta series with Steve Owen and more recently Alan Gurr.

“I keep JF in training mode on the Gold Coast, and get laps on HYL test days, I know what a big step-up Kurt has to make and my role is to assist with that” D’Agostin said.

HYL are testing after Sandown a very young ex Kart star/FFord driver for the Konica Minolta 25 lap race at Bathurst.
