Ultimate showdown shaping as biggest and best ever

5/9/2004 23:11 (Press Release) - With less than 50 days to go before the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000, organisers are confident the anticipated record crowds to descend on Mount Panorama on October 7-10, will ensure a befitting level of support for drivers during this unique Australian motorsports endurance Event.

A range of new initiatives planned for this year’s ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN will be announced over coming weeks, which is sure to intensify even greater spectator interest.

The phenomenal response to a pre-purchase ticketing incentive has already netted better than anticipated sales, which has required the construction of two major extensions to the Bob Jane T-Marts grandstand.

“The demand for grandstand tickets has been complemented by general and pit admissions which are currently well above projections and more than 30% above sales for the corresponding period last year,” said IMG Director of Motorsport James O’Brien.

“All purchasers of grandstand seating automatically qualify for the draw for the ULTIMATE race experience, where a lucky fan will be ushered to one of the top Holden or Ford teams and taken on a guided pit tour by drivers competing in the Bob Jane T-Marts 1000.”

“Complementing the on-track experience, the winner will also receive a set of four Dunlop SP3000A tyres, fitted and balanced at any Bob Jane T-Marts store in Australia.

“Our thanks to PWR Racing, Ford Performance Racing and Dunlop for their support of this initiative.

As the 42nd Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 looms ever closer, further proof of the appeal the Event holds has been portrayed through an unprecedented rush for campground sites.

The recent event launch at Sydney’s Luna Park has already begun to trigger the mindset of many other keen followers of the ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN who’ll need to register their campsite booking as soon as possible.

That scenario is sure to keep organisers busy over the next few weeks as the countdown continues towards one of Australia’s most prestigious sporting Events and the showpiece occasion on the Australian V8 Supercar Series calendar.

“Pre-bookings for campsites will be taken right up until Friday September 24. Any remaining sites will be sold at the Event, however we do encourage people to get in early to avoid disappointment and assure their place at this year’s ULTIMATE SHOWDOWN,” added O’Brien.

“McPhillamy Park and The Chase have been sold out for close to a month and only last week we had to put the full house sign up at the popular Paddock Campground.

“Those three campgrounds alone represent more than 2000 sites and we are happy to report that Reid and Sulman is also edging close to 75% capacity.

“The only remaining option is the Max Cameron Campground which represents great value for money at just $100 per site.

“There’s no doubting the 42nd Bob Jane T-Marts 1000 is shaping as the biggest and best ever.”
