Motocross champions join forces with leading Konica MInolta team

19/8/2004 0:46 (Press Release) - Australian motocross champions CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha and Konica Minolta V8 Supercar team PCR/Actron Air Racing will team up to support each other at their respective motorsport rounds in Adelaide this weekend.

The PCR/Actron Air Racing Team will be in Adelaide to contest the final round of the 2004 Konica Minolta Series at Mallala Raceway while the CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha team will be in action on Saturday night at the opening round of the Supercross Masters at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre.

Both teams are keen followers of each others sport, PCR/Actron Air Racing drivers Kevin Mundy and Marcus Zukanovic have both attended Supercross events earlier in the year and will be trackside on Saturday night to cheer on the Yamaha factory team.

This is the first opportunity for the CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha team to see the Konica Minolta cars in action and leading riders Troy Carroll and Cameron Taylor will be in the pits supporting Kevin Mundy and Marcus Zukanovic at Sunday’s races.

PCR/Actron Air Racing’s Kevin Mundy said he was looking forward to catching up with the Yamaha riders for a few tips after his recent quad bike fall.

“I am a huge fan of the CDR team,” said Mundy, “I have been to a couple of events with this year I am stoked that they are now coming out to see what we do.

“I am hoping Troy and Cameron will bring me a bit of luck as well as a few tips on how to conquer my quad bike.

“Our team have done a terrific job with the cars they are fantastic and could not be better prepared.

“Let’s hope I can avoid the incidents and post a good result I would love to end the season on a high note,” Mundy added.

After a bad start to the year due to injury CDR/Boost Mobile/Yamaha’s Troy Carroll said he was feeling confident coming into the five round Supercross Masters series.

“I am back to full fitness now and I am feeling really comfortable on the bike,” Carroll said.

“It is always good to have some extra support when you are competing away it will be great to have the PCR/Actron Air Racing guys there to cheer for us on Saturday night.

“Both Cameron and I look forward to hanging out with Kevin and Marcus on Sunday as we are both keen followers of the V8 Supercars.

“We heard about the damage to Kev's riding gear after his quad bike accident so we have had a special team jersey made up for him, hopefully it will bring him a bit of luck on Sunday.
